Artist wanted!
The Learning Disability Service is looking for a freelance community artist to host a series of 6 art workshops.
A scheme is afoot to open a new shop in Bangor Street, Caernarfon which will be a community hub and site
to sell products created by individuals who access our services. We would like a community artist
to run a series of art workshops to design and create images that can be reproduced on various products
e.g. greeting cards, bags and household goods to sell in the shop. The artist will be expected to work with staff
to research and identify methods of reproducing the images ready for sale. You should be available
to deliver the workshops during October 2019 and aim to have a collection of greeting cards ready for sale in
the shop when it opens in early November 2019.
The ability to communicate verbally through the medium of Welsh is essential.
The workshops will be held in the Arfon area, location to be confirmed.
Budget:
· 6 workshops, 2.5 hours each @ £20 per hour = £300 (to include preparation and travel)
· 5 hours work @ £20 per hour to research methods of reproducing the images ready for sale = £100
· Materials budget = £100
To apply send an e-mail telling us about your community art experience and what you can offer this project,
a copy of your CV and examples of your artwork to Gwawr Wyn Roberts
by 9am, Monday 16 September, 2019. It is anticipated that interviews would be held on 23 September.
