Youth Circus Summer Festival Programme Released

NoFit State’s popular Youth Circus Summer Schools have been reimagined as an online Summer Festival this year, kicking off at the start of August. Giving kids the chance to learn circus, stay active and have loads of fun during the summer holidays, safe and socially distanced from home. The week long programme of circus classes and activities for children and young people aged 5-18 has something for all abilities, so don’t miss out, book your child’s spot now and join the UKs most extraordinary circus company online from 3-7 August.

From foot juggling to cartwheels, from sock poi to creative movement and from flexibility to clowning, there is something for everyone in the Summer Festival Programme. Participants can choose which sessions they want to attend and all classes in the festival can be safely trained at home with limited equipment. There will even be craft sessions on how to make some of your own circus kit.

Some notable programme highlights include a Q&A with Luke Hallgarten, the mischievous fire juggler from NoFit State’s big top show LEXICON, one of the youngest members of the touring company who will be giving tips and advice to aspiring young circus artists. A guest session run by Becca Clark from Green City, a local organisation that empowers people to take action and change their life, their community, and their world for the better. Her session Creative Community Action will help participants explore creative ways to make their voices heard and take action on the issues that they care about for a more sustainable future. And the week will end with Friday night’s big finale the Living Room Cabaret. Where everyone can come together and share the incredible new circus skills they’ve mastered over the week with the other kids, teachers and parents, bringing the festival to a close with a celebration of all things circus.

Summer Festival classes are designed for children’s age and experience levels, the Social Circus Fun sessions are aimed at younger children aged 5- 11 and are beginner friendly for those with less circus experience. The Serious Circus Fun sessions are aimed at older children from 11-18 or with more circus experience. Some of the sessions are suitable for everyone no matter their age or experience level, view the full programme for further details.

Week pass tickets cost only £30 for kids aged 5-11 or £40 for kids aged 11-18.
